Miva Merchant Storefront design

Because design matters

The goal of every online store, no matter how large or small, is to sell products. To do this successfully, a storefront must come off as being credible, reliable, and professional. According to a study conducted by Stanford University, 46% of your customers base their buying decision on the aesthetics of your online store [read more].

The key to ensuring confidence in your potential customers is to present them with a professional and easy-to-use online shopping experience. It does not matter if you are a single-person company ran out of a basement, or an established, thriving business; your storefront needs to effectively communicate the positive values of your company. This is where Lee Net & Co can make your business shine.

Overview

PlayfulPlushToys.com - Beforeredesign

Before Redesign

PlayfulPlushToys.com is an online super store for plush toys and accessories. Their online store was already fairly successful, but lacked the professionalism and cohesiveness that their competition possessed. The general goal of this project was to improve the aesthetics and usability of their existing Miva Merchant storefront. The newly designed store needed to convey a friendly and welcoming message to fit the theme of their products. Additional functionality was also added to aid in the customer's shopping experience.

What we did

The first task was to redesign the existing company logo. PlayfulPlushToys.com wanted to keep the same basic shape as their old logo, but "jazz" it up with different colors. The new PlayfulPlushToys.com bear has a very fun and inviting quality about it that welcomes customers into the store. The bear is used throughout the store to add a playful feel to the shopping experience.

One of the other improvements that was made to the storefront was the ability to "redecorate" the store for seasonal holidays. The toy industry is highly reliant on holidays for selling products. To add that "personalized" touch to the store, we designed eight different themes to be used for various holidays

The newly designed store features a streamlined navigation structure.

A "live" basket quantity and subtotal area was added to allow the customer instant notifications of how much their order totaled.

A search box was added to the header to allow customers to instantly search for the product that they were looking for. The search is the most popular way that PlayfulPlushToys.com customers locate products.

The main product area was divided into 2 separate boxes; Top sellers and New arrivals. This allows for a more organized display of products. The Top Sellers area dynamically displays the store's most popular products for that week based on custom orders.
